Opening the GVH Folder

1. Open the GVH Library page in steam. Click the Settings Icon, Manage, Browse local files

Backing up your saves

You don't need to do this, but it's never a bad idea.

1. Open the GVH Library page in steam. Click the Settings Icon, Manage, Browse local files

2. Open The "Goodbye Volcano High_Data" folder, right-click the "saves" folder, and hit copy

3. Paste it literally anywhere you want. I put mine on my desktop.

You can copy-paste it from wherever back to the Goodbye Volcano High_Data folder to restore a save

Installing BepinEx

We're now going to start installing BepinEx. BepinEx is a "mod loader", which means it does some under-the-hood-stuff to allow loading custom content.

It has no "installer" you run, it instead is installed by simply copying some files. It's awesome.

You only need to install it once.

1. Download this file: BepInEx_win_x64_5.4.23.1.zip

2. Click it in your Downloads folder and click "Extract All". Click through all the windows extraction stuff.

3. It should open the extracted folder contents when done

Installing BepinEx

Now we're going to copy the BepinEx files into the game folder.

1. Select all the files in the extracted folder

2. Copy the contents, then paste them in the GVH folder

3. You should see a "BepInEx" folder in the same folder as the Goodbye Volcano High_Data folder

BepinEx Installed!

Your game folder should look like this:

You've now installed BepinEx. You only need to do this once.

Next we'll install the mod itself.

1. Open the BepinEx folder in your Goodbye Volcano High folder.

Open the "plugins" folder

Now we're going to "install the mod"

1. Download this file: ChapterSelect.dll

2. Drag it from your downloads folder into the "plugins" folder you just opened.

Mod Installed!

Go start the game!

Done!

You've now installed the mod. Your startup screen should look like this:
